If you belong to people, who suffer from allergy to contact lens solutions, you should apply products for sensitive eyes. The allergy is possible if you apply the same products for many years. The symptoms of allergy are itching, tearing, foreign body sensation, burning, redness and discharge. Brands that apply
a preservative  known as thimerosal cannot be bought by people with sensitive eyes. It is better to purchase thimerosal-free saline with the description "for sensitive eyes."

Other preservatives can also be the causes of allergy, that’s why it is recommended to apply preservative-free care products. Some products such as hydrogen peroxide have a "disappearing" preservative that disappears as soon as the solution  begins to contact with your eyes. Non-aerosol preservative-free saline can be used for about a fortnight after its opening.
